Putting the Pieces Together
When I start writing a paper, I feel like it's going to take 10 years to write. Each word requires careful thought. And then sometimes I read what I've written, realize it makes absolutely no sense, and I restart. I definitely felt this way when I started my Mod 2 research article.
I knew what we did in lab, but I couldn't quite put the pieces together. When I started writing my paper, I realized there was no proper flow to it because I couldn't see how everything connected. Of course, this led to me freaking out later because I had no idea how to write this super important massive paper, and then someone told me three words that fixed it all: "Write an outline". It was so simple. I just needed to plan. Seems obvious, right? Well it should be, but when you're panicking because you have 2000 things to do and no time to do them, you sometimes miss the obvious things.
I made an outline. And then I made it again. And one more time. It took a while, but once I figured out how the pieces of Mod 2 connected, everything became easier. I was less stressed out because I understood what I was doing.
It was amazing. Those words that were taking so much thought earlier became soooooo much easier to produce. I was able to write faster and better than earlier. Of course, I still had to shuffle around some paragraphs and make revisions later, but I surprised myself by being able to write a decent paper despite having relatively little time to do it.
All in all, I liked this assignment. Journal club presentations helped prepare me for this assignment very well. Also, this module was super interesting. Yeah, the assignments were longer and harder, but they were interesting. Mod2 was a fun time, but I'm definitely ready and excited for Module 3!
