Be decisive on the order of the results
Like everyone else, I assume this research article was probably stressful and time-consuming. In my experience, the ordering of the results/data probably took up most of my time. I was not sure whether to go with the qPCR or RNA-seq analysis. It was hard to figure out which way to tell my findings. The order of it did matter as I had to change everything based on that and how I told my findings.
The good thing about this research article is that we came in more prepared as we have been practicing since Mod 1 and we have also seen and broke down actual papers. The bad thing was working with the RNA-seq analysis. I am still not 100% sure what some of the data we derived from R actually means. Overall, the lab work and the data analysis from the lab work was pretty straight forward. The RNA-seq and the public domain comparisons were the hard ones to decipher.
If anything, I'm just glad that I was able to write a research paper on my own and I feel this will help me in the future.
P.S. I can't think of a meme for this blog.
