From dozens of ideas to ours
When
Shin and I first started researching potential topics, we had tons of potential
topics, ranging from cancer therapeutics to snake bite treatments. We had truly
no idea how we would be presenting an in-depth proposal in just a few weeks.
This
is one of the things I most appreciated about 109 though – the homework is
actually helpful in that it keeps you on track for major deadlines but we also
get super constructive feedback almost immediately.
So,
we somehow finally picked a topic. We thought that once we had a topic chosen, we
would not be so overwhelmed by the amount of literature. However, it seemed
like the amount of literature only increased once we began looking for work
done in this area. Even conflicting results, which stumped us for several days.
Eventually,
with lots of help from the teaching staff, we were able to finalize our proposal
in plenty of time (we still underestimate how long it will take us to make
figures and schematics!!) and then presented.
The
other thing I liked about this assignment was that it was with our lab
partners. Somehow, presenting in front of the class seems much easier with
someone else up there with you.
Well,
we made it! This was seriously my favorite class of all time and I wish we had
this teaching staff for every class from now on. Thanks for everything guys,
its been real! 20.DONE09!!
